BMR Calculator
Estimate basal metabolic rate
Quick guide
What can BMR Calculator help you do?
Free BMR calculator using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula. Estimate daily calories burned at rest from height, weight, age, and gender.
Best for
See how sex, age, height, and weight contribute to a basal-metabolism formula, without an activity adjustment. This is useful for examining the baseline estimate alone. There is no activity selector, and the output is not a complete estimate of daily energy expenditure.
How to use it
Choose a sex and enter positive age, height in centimeters, and weight in kilograms. Defaults are male, 30 years, 175 cm, and 72 kg. Editing calculates immediately; Use sample restores those values. There is no adult-age range check, so accepted input does not establish suitability.
How to read the result
The equation is 10 times weight plus 6.25 times height minus 5 times age, then plus 5 for male or minus 161 for female. The output is kcal/day with up to two decimals. No activity multiplier, calorie deficit, or macro allocation is applied.
Privacy and limits
The component applies the equation inside your browser, without a health API or personal-profile storage. Copy result writes to the clipboard. The site still includes external resources such as Google Analytics, so local calculation is not a guarantee of an offline page.
This is a formula estimate, not a metabolic measurement, minimum food allowance, or medical diagnosis. Validation checks only finite positive inputs; extreme combinations can still yield implausible or negative results. Check units and values, and do not treat the number as an individual diet prescription.
