Quick guide

What can GPA Calculator help you do?

Free US-style GPA calculator. Enter courses, grades, credits to get weighted semester GPA.

Best for

Calculate a credit-weighted semester GPA from letter grades using US 4.0 or US 4.3. Course rows can be added or removed. This is not a percentage-to-letter converter and does not implement institution-specific retakes, transfer credits, or pass/fail policies.

How to use it

Choose the grading scale, then replace the three example rows with your courses, letter grades, and credits. Use Add Course or the row delete button as needed. The 4.3 option changes A+ to 4.3; other point values remain the same.

How to read the result

Grade points are multiplied by credits before averaging, so a higher-credit course has more influence. The GPA displays two decimal places. Zero or invalid credits are omitted; compare the displayed credit total with your records before using the resulting average.

Privacy and limits

Course names are optional identifiers for the rows; only grades and credits affect the calculation. No student login or transcript upload is required. Remove identifying course details before sharing a screenshot if the grades themselves are sensitive.

Schools can use different grade mappings and policies for repeated or excluded courses. This is a calculation under the selected table, not an official transcript. Use your institution's rules for graduation, admission, scholarship, or other formal decisions.
