Best for
Keep a short meeting draft or a temporary checklist in the same browser between visits. The notepad supports one locally saved text buffer, basic Markdown preview, character and word counts, and a plain-text download without requiring an account.
How to use it
Type or paste your note and watch the save indicator after you pause typing. Select Markdown Preview to view basic formatting and Back to Edit to continue writing. Copy takes the raw text; Download .txt creates a dated file. Clear asks for confirmation.
How to read the result
Auto-save writes after roughly 300 milliseconds without typing and also attempts to save when the page becomes hidden. A warning means storage failed. Character counts use Unicode code points, words are whitespace-separated chunks, and lines follow newline characters rather than visual wrapping.
Privacy and limits
Notes are saved in this site's localStorage in your browser, not uploaded by the widget or synced to an account. No CDN Markdown library is loaded. Anyone using the same browser profile may reopen the note; downloaded files and clipboard copies persist separately.
Local storage is not a backup: clearing site data, private browsing, or storage restrictions can remove or prevent saved notes. Multiple tabs share one storage key and can overwrite each other. Markdown support is basic, and downloaded text retains Markdown syntax rather than exporting formatted HTML.

Where is my note stored?
In localStorage for this site in the same browser profile. Clearing this site’s stored data can delete notes. Switching browsers does not delete the original copy, but the other browser will not show it.
Can I sync to the cloud?
Not built-in (for privacy). Use Download .txt to save to Dropbox/Google Drive.
How long can I write?
localStorage typically allows ~5MB (~2.5M characters) — plenty for notes.
Does it support Markdown?
