Quick guide

What can Text-to-Speech (TTS) help you do?

Free browser-based text-to-speech tool. Supports English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and more. Adjustable speed and pitch. Web Speech API.

Best for

Listen to a short draft, check sentence rhythm, or compare the voices available on your device. The tool uses browser speech synthesis rather than recording or translation. It plays text aloud but does not create an audio file or offer a downloadable narration.

How to use it

Enter text, choose a voice, then press Play. Rate and pitch both start at 1.0 and range from 0.5 to 2.0 in steps of 0.1. Pause, resume or stop playback as needed. Stop and replay to apply changes to voice, rate or pitch.

How to read the result

The output is audible speech, with no MP3 download or word timing display. Voice options show names and language codes; a star marks the system default. The widget tries to select a voice matching the page language, but you should confirm suitability by listening.

Privacy and limits

Text is passed to browser speech synthesis. The widget does not itself upload text to a third-party API, but the selected browser or operating-system voice may use a remote service. The selector does not identify offline voices, so check service settings before using sensitive text.

Names, abbreviations, numbers and mixed-language passages may be pronounced incorrectly. Available voices and pause behavior vary by environment, so speech is not proof of correct pronunciation. If the voice list is empty or playback fails, check device voice availability and try a short passage first.
