Quick guide

What can Pomodoro Timer help you do?

Free online Pomodoro timer. 25-min work + 5-min break cycles with sound alerts and custom durations.

Best for

Use this for a work session divided into focus time, short breaks and longer breaks. It displays the current phase, remaining time and round number, but does not maintain a task list, save daily productivity statistics or provide reminders after the page closes.

How to use it

Defaults are 25 minutes of work, a five-minute short break and a 15-minute long break after every four work rounds. Start, pause, reset or skip as needed. After editing durations, reset or reselect the current phase to apply its new duration.

How to read the result

Finishing or skipping work increments the round and selects a break based on the round just ended. The next phase waits for you to start it. Reset restores the current phase duration without resetting rounds; phase changes attempt a short tone when sound is enabled.

Privacy and limits

Settings, phases and rounds remain in page memory; the widget does not upload session records or write them to browser storage. The tone is synthesized by the browser without microphone access. Remaining time also appears in the tab title and may be visible during screen sharing.

Each timer callback subtracts one second, so background-tab throttling or device sleep can make the timer run late. Browser restrictions can also prevent the tone. Numeric limits are not fully enforced in the calculation; stay within the displayed ranges and do not use this as a critical alarm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s: focus 25 min + break 5 min as one "pomodoro". Every 4 rounds, take a longer 15-30 min break.
